2019 - Kings of Winter?
Again, early Fandom is a wasteland of names and numbers that maybe one day I’ll try and figure out. The first official Fandom Teams tournament was also unseeded, but I believe Kings of Winter would have been the #1 seed. Both them and Ragnarok had just lost in title matches to Arkham Knights. With a higher record, I think Kings of Winter was the top ranked. Jim and Koho would eventually lose to the winners of the tournament, Dedicated 2 Art, who defeated Team 80s in the finals.
2020 - Mischief Managed
Most of this article, as you’ll see, surrounds Wookiee Mistake, and their story starts here. The only active former teams Champions Mischief Managed (Boatman and Scully) earned the #1 seed in 2020. Unfortunately, they were upset by eventual tournament winners the #16 seed Wookiee mistake, who only had one debut loss under their belt. They defeated the #10 seed Schizo to win their first of many tournaments.
2021 - Wookiee Mistake (Summer)
After their tournament win, but title match loss, Wookiee Mistake was allowed to be the #1 seed in a special 8-team tournament. They won, defeating the #6 seed Manhattan Project and challenged again. Joe and David are two-time teams champions, but I think their tournament prowess is what they will most be remembered for.
2021 - Knights of Ren (Fall)
After losing the title in the upset of the year to DUM-Es, Knights of Ren forfeited their automatic rematch and entered the Fandom Teams tournament of the Fall at the #1 seed. In what was dubbed their final run, Knights of Ren defeated the #11 Guns and Ships in the finals to win their first tournament.
2022 - Duel of the Fates
The hot shot rookie sensation team of 2022 was Duel of the Fates. They made it to a title match undefeated but could not overcome Wookiee Mistake. They were the easy odds-on favorite to win in the fall. Unfortunately, Brittani and Tyler lost to fellow rookie team, the #8 seed Young Justice in round 2. With Duel out of the way, the #2 seed Wookiee Mistake would go on to win their third tournament, defeating rivals Guns and Ships at the #4 seed.
2023 - Wookiee Mistake
Once again, Wookiee Mistake found themself at the top of a tournament, announced as their final run. Through some struggles, Wookiee Mistake got revenge against the #2 seed Rule of Two in the finals, winning their fourth and final tournament, and retiring with the belts.
2024 - Young Justice
The beginning of 2024 saw some high tier teams play for top spots in the summer tournament. Young Justice, appearing for the first time since challenging for the title faced off against Rule of Two, and won the #1 seed. Time will tell how that story goes….
