Cashing In: All L1S Prize Uses Ranked by Success

6. Jake Maringoni - Fandom MVP 2023

Unfortunately Jake Maringoni’s stellar performance in the 2023 Last1Standing didn’t yield any championships, or even title challenges. Jake decided to use his MVP award for a contender shot in Fandom Teams. In an act named after his team, Back to Formula was given a choice between Galac-Deez Nuts, Young Justice, and Wookiee Mistake, which gave Holzmann and Javi their first shot at the belts.

5. Thomas Scully - Fandom Winner 2022

Hall of Famer Thomas Scully is a legend, and the second ever winner of the Fandom L1S. After a strong start winning the event in 2022, the rest of the year was heartbreaker after heartbreaker for Scully fans. After being upset in the Summer Series Tournament by his own teammate Kaleb Koho, Scully immediately used his L1S win to skip to the end of the tournament and play Joe Farrelly, the champion who defeated him for the vacant belt earlier in the year. We all know how it went.

4. Tim Brzakala - Fandom Winner 2021

Copy and paste: Hall of Famer Tim Brzakala is a legend, and the first ever winner of the Fandom L1S. After winning, Tim used his title shot to challenge his teammate Nicholas Twohig at the Final Act for the singles belt as the two were set to challenge for the team belts already. This became a triple threat after Thomas Scully had the same idea, and while it was an awesome match, Tim was slightly less than sober by Round 4.

3. Brittani Tapley - Fandom MVP 2022

Brittani Tapley. A bonafide legend. One of her first great successes was becoming the Fandom L1S MVP in 2022, after nearly winning the whole thing. Brittani’s contender match was a huge success. After nearly defeating the seemingly unbeatable Joe Farrelly at the end of the summer, Brittani was riding high and ready to jump right back in. She crashed in on the next contender match, making it a triple threat with Thomas Scully and Robert Castner and won in impressive fashion. In her second title shot against Joe she and Joe had the exact same accuracy, again, and she lost on the last question…again.

2. Thomas Scully - Fandom MVP 2021

Prior to Scully’s win, he found himself as the first Fandom L1S MVP in 2021. He used his contender match in singles, making the final title match at the Final Act a Triple Threat. His shot is what I would call 95% a success. He won his contender match against Kaleb Koho, and quite frankly in one of the most brutal singles knockouts we’ve ever seen. Then, the singles match was his. He had the upper hand against both members of the Knights of Ren, only to slip on the last question, losing the belt to Nicholas Twohig (still so sorry).

1. Brittani Tapley - Fandom Winner 2023

Brittani Tapley currently has the only successful use of a Fandom L1S prize, and I must say it is easily the most impressive (at least at the time of this being written). Some winners come in at the middle or the end, and have to beat maybe 3-10 people to win. Brittani came in at number 11 and basically took out 28 people to win L1S. Not only that, but she wasted no time in challenging Joe Farrelly for the third time immediately after the event. She came so close in her first two attempts, that I don’t think there was any force on Earth that could have stopped her this third time. It also led to two more title defenses and a year that will long be remembered as “Brittani’s Year”.

Update (Spoilers):

Joe Farrelly, Robert Castner…your turn.
