Javi’s Predictions
These were written on January 11, 2024. (Three days before the filming of the Last 1 Standing. To my knowledge, at the time of writing this, only one match has been shot and I am not even aware of who has played in it.) This is a list of random predictions meant to be published after the Fandom Fights 2024 season and to make me look like a genius or a fool depending on what I get right (if anything). This is not meant to insult anyone but rather to be a look back at the season that has not been played from my perspective.
Joe Farrelly will win or be Last1Standing MVP and become singles champion again at some point.
While Joe did win L1S, he unfortunately never reclaimed the singles title.
Tyler Burch and Joe Farrelly will join the perfect game club.
Unfortunately no, though Tyler was one question away (and Tim nearly broke the rules to give it to him lol)
Javi Madan and Kaleb Koho will get a Perfect Round (maybe with the bonus, maybe not).
Javi did, Koho not so much.
Andrew Barr will win more than he will lose taking if you count singles and teams together.
Heartbreaker, Barr went 2-1 in singles and 1-2 in teams, so he finishes at 3-3. Though he did challenge for the teams title and is nominated for comeback player of the year.
Manhattan Project will have at least one title appearance but will not win.
Unfortunately this was not Manhattan’s year.
Wrong Side of the River will win the titles in the first title picture of the year, but Duel will win it back and defend it at least twice after.
First totally correct prediction! Wrong Side of the River won, Duel of the Fates took them back and never lost again.
Tyler Burch, should he be in the tournament will, make it to the finals.
Ummmm technicality? Tyler was knocked out in the semi-finals of the Summer Series Singles Tournament, BUT he won WOAT.
The singles tournament this year will be the return of the 32-person tournament.
Nah lol, 16.
Young Justice, should they be in the tournament, will make it to the finals.
Another close but no cigar. Knocked out by Posse Galore in the semis.
Dean Manness will not lose until he is at least .500.
Ayyy! Dean went 3-0 in singles and currently sits at 4-3.
Igor Kasic and Jacoby Bancroft will play for their first Fandom title either in singles or teams.
Both correct, Igor won the Summer Series Teams Tournament and Jacoby became a Teams champion!
Despite not putting any effort into Fandom, Payson Johnson and John Maher will win more than they will lose in both singles and teams.
Payson went 2-1 in singles but 1-3 in Teams. John while being one of the top rookies unfortunately went 1-2 in singles and 1-3 in teams.
Ryan Payne will break the Fandom Rookie of the Year curse and win 2 for every 1 he lost at least.
The curse continues…Ryan went 1-3.
Joe and Igor together will win Fandom Rookie Team of the Year.
TBD… though it’s lookin’ likely
Either Mark Menchaca or Igor Kasic will win Fandom comeback player of the year.
Igor is nominated for comeback player of the year, TBD on the victory.
Anna Bongiorno and John Maher will be nominated for Fandom Rookie of the Year, but Joseph Olivas will win.
Lol Anna tried, but John and Joseph are sitting pretty.
Kaiser Huang will make it to the semi-finals of the singles tournament.
Unfortunately Kaiser was knocked out by Thomas Scully in the quarter finals, BUT he did become the first person to upset the #1 seed in Round 1.
Mike Hanley will win at least 5 matches across singles and teams.
Quite a high ceiling lol. Mike went 0-2 in singled, though Blockbuster had a good year at 2-1.
Star Wars and Star Trek will merge with Dune for the next season.
Legit didn’t read this before that decision was made…Galaxy Quests coming soon.
Scream (and potentially Saw) will join Horror Icons.
Horror Icons is perfect the way it is.
Spy Kids will join American Spies.
Ha! Hahahahah. Ha! eh maybe next year.
No movies that were in the 2024 season will be leaving for 2025.
