One-Off Frenzy Teams I Want to See Form

After winning the first Fandom Teams Frenzy, Jack Pinchuk and Alex Martinez faced off against each other in a teams contender match. However, they realized they liked playing together more than they did when pitted against each other. Now that we have three Fandom Teams Frenzies in the books, there are a whole lot of one-off teams that I want to see form as an official Fandom Team. Here’s 5 of ‘em.

Brittani Tapley and Melissa Woody

Brittani and Melissa formed in the second Fandom Teams Frenzy, and while they didn’t win I think we saw the forming of a great team. Probably two of the players that have garnered the most respect for different reasons. Melissa for her willingness to step into the ring in the first place, and Brittani’s accomplishments speak for themselves. Oddly enough (and no shot and the greatest of all time) it was Brittani who caused them to lose in their one round together. Melissa seemed to have a confidence boost which is a good sign that you’re part of a great team.

Mark Menchaca and Albert Wiradharma

Jack and Alex were the original winners of the Frenzy (and the inspiration for this list) who then went on to form an actual Fandom team. Mark and Albert won the second Fandom Teams Frenzy, and the two worked together very well. Their demeanor and attitude demands for a third version of License to Chill, and most importantly, they’re great players! Mark and Albert have both made it to the singles title ring. Their similarities are too similar not to form up.

Abel de Leeuw and Thomas Scully

There was one match up in the first ever Fandom Teams Frenzy that I think goes overlooked. This is probably because Abel played from the attic of a house on spring break, and still managed to help Scully come out with the win. With Scully adopting this new relaxed attitude towards Fandom, I think these two former champs could form a super team. Alas, it seems like something only the Multiverse could make come true.

Nazario Montenegro and Tyler Beutler

If everyone out there has a clone, then I also believe that everyone has someone out there who is the opposite of that. In the finals of this year’s Frenzy, two of those opposites found each other. I believe Tyler and Nazario have all the makings of a great team. They cover each other’s weaknesses. Nazario is as loud and ridiculous as Tyler is serious and quiet. And we watched them genuinely work well together and succeed. Another pair of winners that would work very well together.

Jack Pinchuk and Robert Castner

The chaos we all deserve. Beyond just the moment that made this year’s Frenzy worthwhile, these two have a long and storied history. Long ago, Robert beat Jack in sudden death. Since then, Jack has called out Robert in every match he’s played, trying desperately to make Robert his nemesis. Having them team up would bring joy to most people’s hearts. Not only would their chemistry (or lack thereof) be great to watch, but I actually think they would cover each other’s blind spots as well. They could be the next championship team, or crash and burn in round one, but I want to see it.
